Our shopping centre client came to us looking for a long term solution to address the leaks to the existing main entrance atrium. In addition, the existing panels were showing signs of related degradation and as such, the client wanted us to improve the aesthetic appearance.
Given the shape and location of the structure, access to conduct works was not simple.
To improve the aesthetic appearance, our refurbishment package included for the replacement of all the existing polycarbonate panels with new. These panels were 6m in length in places and required careful manoeuvre to position correctly within the glazing system.
Alongside the replacement of the panels, our team also conduct a replacement of all the existing weather seals to glazing system to address the leak issues. To confirm the integrity of works, we conducted a water test on completion to ensure the clients requirements had been addressed.
To negate the difficult access to the structure, we utilised a combination of our IRATA trained Rope Access Technicians and scaffold towers.
