The Sky Access Glazing team were tasked with undertaking an annual facade and maintenance package for a commercial office premises in Brentford, London. The glazed facade consisted of a full height curtain wall system using Schueco components. Due to the age of the site and a lack of ongoing maintenance, the curtain wall was showing signs of age related deterioration which required remedial works.
Utilising our in-house IRATA trained Rope Access Technicians, we proceeded to undertake a targeted annual glazed facade maintenance strategy for the property. These works commenced with an initial inspection of the facade to quantify any initial defects such as glass breakages / fractures, short gaskets, defective weather seals etc. Where practical, our teams undertook spot repairs to alleviate any ongoing issues such as water ingress.
After a quantification of works, our Surveying team sent across a photographic report which detailed all defects identified along with locations on the facade. Any spot repairs undertaken were logged with before / after photos to provide the client with peace of mind about works conducted. After successful completion, Sky Access were instructed for the proceeding year to continue the ongoing maintenance program.
